Clean Your Room

Clean Your Room is a soccer dribbling drill made for U5-U8 players. Everyone dribbles inside the grid while one 'room cleaner' tries to boot every ball out - so the little ones practice protecting the ball under real pressure, and the cleaner learns to press. Expect giggles and total chaos, in the best way.

Setup
- Mark a grid about 15×15 yards; adjust for the size, skill, and number of players.
- Choose one player to be the room cleaner - they start without a ball.
- Every other player has a ball inside the grid.
How It Works
- All players dribble freely around the grid.
- Release the room cleaner into the grid on your call.
- The cleaner steals balls and kicks them out of the grid, as far as possible.
- Dribblers whose ball is cleared must chase it down and dribble back into the grid as fast as they can.
- The room is 'clean' - and the cleaner wins - when every ball is outside the grid at the same time.
- If the cleaner is struggling, send in a second cleaner to help.
Coaching Points
- Tell the cleaner to press quickly and clear balls far - short clearances come straight back.
- Dribblers should spot the pressure early, stay calm, and put their body between the cleaner and the ball.
- Encourage heads-up dribbling so players see the cleaner coming.
- Keep rounds short and rotate cleaners so everyone gets a turn.
Variations
- Start with two room cleaners for bigger groups.
- Make returning players do 10 jumping jacks before re-entering, buying the cleaner extra time.
- Shrink the grid late in the round to force a frantic finish.
