Move, Combo, 1v1 Shooting Drill
Attackers Defenders Neutral Goalkeeper Pass Run Dribble Shot
This soccer shooting drill packs three different finishes into one flowing circuit: a shot after a move, a first-time strike off a 1-2 combination, and a finish after beating a defender 1v1. U11-U16 players stay busy because every shot immediately triggers their next job.

Setup
- Form three lines of players (Line 1, 2, and 3) about 30 yards from goal.
- Every player in each line has a ball.
- Put a goalkeeper in the goal.
How It Works
- Line 1: the first player dribbles out, performs a move, and shoots before reaching the edge of the penalty box.
- After shooting, that player checks toward the first player in Line 2 for a 1-2: Line 2 passes in, the checking player lays it off, and Line 2 hits a first-time shot.
- After their shot, the Line 2 player becomes a defender against the first player in Line 3, who tries to beat them 1v1 and finish.
- Players return to their own line - run each line 3-4 times through before rotating lines so everyone does all three jobs.
Coaching Points
- Clean shooting technique: strike through the ball, land on the kicking foot, follow through toward goal.
- Every shot on target - a saved shot beats a blazed one.
- Players must remember their next task after shooting; the drill punishes switching off.
- In the 1v1, attack the defender at speed and shoot early once past them.
Variations
- Name the required move at the cone (scissors, stepover, chop) and rotate it each round.
- Add a second goalkeeper and alternate so keepers get high shot volume.
- Track goals per line and crown a winning line at the end.
