Goalkeeper Pressure Cooker
Attackers Defenders Neutral Goalkeeper Pass Run Dribble Shot
The Goalkeeper Pressure Cooker is a soccer goalkeeping drill for U10–U16 keepers that never lets them switch off. Surrounded by players pinging one-touch passes, the keeper must track the ball constantly, because a shot can come from anywhere at any moment. The outfield players get sharp one-touch passing work at the same time.

Setup
- Use the center circle, or mark a circle with cones.
- Spread about 10 players around the outside of the circle.
- Put the goalkeeper in the middle and give one outfield player a ball.
How It Works
- The players around the circle keep the ball moving with one-touch passes.
- At any moment, any player may shoot at the goalkeeper instead of passing.
- The keeper stays alert, moves into line with every pass, and reacts to save the shot.
- After each save, the goalkeeper returns the ball to a player on the circle and the passing resumes.
Coaching Points
- Feet first: the keeper's footwork should keep them constantly in line with the ball.
- Get set before the shot - balanced, hands ready, weight forward.
- Quick reactions and an instant recovery for the next shot.
- Watch the keeper's work rate: this is a conditioning drill for concentration as much as technique.
Variations
- As a warm-up, have players serve balls into the keeper's hands instead of shooting.
- Add a second ball so the keeper must switch focus even faster.
- Require passes below head height to keep the tempo up.
