Get Outta Here is a breathless small-sided soccer game where scoring is the only way to stay on the field. The coach fires in ball after ball, winners stay, losers leave, and nobody stands around. It packs dribbling, passing, finishing, and fitness into one drill that U8-U14 players will ask for by name.

Setup

  • Mark a 25×15 yard grid with a small goal at each end.
  • Adjust the field size for the skill level of your players.
  • The coach stands on the touchline at midfield with a supply of balls.
  • Form a short line of players from each team on either side of the coach.

How It Works

  1. The coach plays a ball in, and the first player from each line enters to compete (2v2 in the standard version).
  2. If a player or pair scores, they stay on; the beaten opponents are 'outta here' and rejoin their line.
  3. The coach immediately plays a new ball to fresh challengers - no pauses.
  4. If the ball goes out of bounds, everyone on the field is out and two new groups come in.
  5. Keep the pace relentless; that urgency is the drill.

Coaching Points

  • Promote sharp small-group passing and quick combination play.
  • Demand early support the moment a teammate wins the ball.
  • Encourage players to take on defenders with confidence.
  • Reward shooting on sight - hesitation gets punished here.

Variations

  • Start with 1v1 duels before progressing to 2v2, then 3v3.
  • Limit touches to force faster passing.
  • Add conditions like beating a defender before passing to reward dribblers.
