Fast Play Warm-up

Focus of the Drill

This soccer drill focus mainly on the pace and speed of play.It helps in making the team Players grab a good grasp of basic passing and receiving skills to successfully finish this drill.

For setting up:

  1. First of all, create a 30X40 size grid.

  2. Then, you have to get the team divided into even groups of 6 players per group

  3. Make sure to number the players from number 1 to 6

  4. In this drill, the ball should start from players 1 and 4 to start the warm-up.

How to Play

To start the play, first of all you warm up for around five to seven minutes. Then the players have to spread out inside the grid randomly.

After that, the passing should start in such a way that a player has to pass the ball to the next highest number. This warm up continues like this.

The process is then repeated in reverse order.

Next, the same warm up exercise is repeated with the odd players playing to odd players and even players playing to even numbers.

The number of touches can be decreased to make the game play faster. This also allows the players to think quickly.

The verbal communication between the players should not exceed one or two words. At the end, only non-verbal communication and body gestures are used to communicate.
